How to contribute ​

Updating the Data ​

We want to store as much information as we can in a few data files, to simplify future updates should anything change.

Medicine Applications

Data for applications to medical schools can be found in docs/guides/medicine/applications/data.json.

The structure of the data is as follows:

  • school_full: (String) The official, full name of the medical school/faculty as it appears on their website. This should be complete and unabbreviated.

  • school_common: (String) A commonly used, but still relatively formal, abbreviated name for the school. This term will be clear, but remove redundant terms.

  • school_short: (String) A very short abbreviation or acronym for the school, often used for quick reference and display where space is extremely limited.

  • province: (String) The province or territory where the medical school is located. Use the two-letter abbreviation for the province.

  • deadline_1: (String) The primary or first application deadline date for the school. Format should be YYYY-MM-DD. If the exact day of the month is not available, use the first day of the month in question. Leave as null if a deadline isn't published yet.

  • link_main: (URL/String) A direct link to the medical school's official admissions or 'how to apply' guide page. Provide a full and valid URL. Leave as null if a suitable link isn't available. Make sure to link an official page, not a forum post or 3rd party website.
